Why Do Some People Have to Learn the “Hard Way”?
Do you know someone in your life who often seems to find themselves in negative situations, having to crawl out from a bad choice or two? Most of us can think of at least one person we know who only calls us when they need help. Or, when things are taking a dramatic turn for them, and they either need our advice or some sort of assistance based on their situation. We try our best with the knowledge and resources we have available to help them; however, we have no control over whether they take our advice and productively move forward; or whether they find themselves right back in the same situation.
Some people have the kind of personality and internal belief system which leads them to learn various life lessons the “hard way”. They do not seem to be able to learn from other people’s mistakes and see the consequences that were suffered through. These individuals must learn these lessons for themselves. It may not take one or two times for them to fully understand the consequences, but several instances to comprehend that their way is not the exception to the rules.
For their friends and family members, this reoccurring circumstance is difficult to watch as well as to be a part. However, due to their personality type and belief system, it is part of their learning process. This kind of behavior occurs more often with people who have been diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). Not all forms of ADD are alike, but there are some that seem to cause people to “choose” to do things the hard way…
