We are Stronger Than we Give Ourselves Credit
It’s no secret that hard and difficult times are going to happen throughout our lives. Sometimes they sneak up on us and turn our whole world upside down. Other times, we might be lucky enough to have some fore warning that allows us to plan and prepare for our next move. Either way, these are the instances in our lives that build us up to learn who we truly are. These are the circumstances that pull out the positive side of our true colors and help us to see how strong and resilient we really are.
Sometimes we get so caught up in one bad situation that we cannot see the three to four other positive things that are happening around us. That is when we feel as though we are stuck in the woods and cannot see the light through the branches. In reality, we are being trained, taught, and built up in what we can do in those woods to prepare us for the light on the other side.
If you have ever heard or read the Biblical story of David and Goliath, you know that a teenager was sent to face a giant with just a sling and a stone while the other warriors present were too afraid to step up to the task. David was able to victoriously take down the giant in the story! But there is a great backstory to David that isn’t so noticeable here. David had been put to the test for a long time. He literally had to rescue lambs from the mouth of lions and bears before taking on the giant. He was being prepared and unknowingly trained for what he was meant to do in the future.
We are not put into any situation that we cannot handle or overcome, even though it may seem like it times. We are put where we are to be strengthened, to learn, to listen intently, and to build our skills so that we may conquer the giant ahead of us…
