Teaching Our Sons to be Gentlemen

Have you ever walked up to a store and the person who goes in before you doesn’t hold the door open for you? I’m sure it has happened to all of us and there is an immediate thought that crosses our minds; it’s either ‘how rude’ or a very sarcastic ‘thank you’. It brings to mind the question of ‘how were you raised?’

For anyone who has daughters, we know how badly we want them to find someone to marry who is kind, gentle, and respectful, but also knows how to be a strong leader and a provider. We want the person to whom they choose to be a good father and a wonderful example of how to be a gentleman to their children. Not only do they treat other people with respect, but they carry themselves in a respectful manner as well. They are courteous, engaging, polite, mild-mannered, and they have the appropriate level of confidence that is admired…
